Of standard rounded rectangular form set on four bracket feet, the lid inset with a panel of pale green-brown shibuichi with silver relief decoration and variegated patination representation Mount Fuji partially obscured by cloud, the sides with a few engraved wave motifs, the interior of the lid engraved with the aoi mon [hollyhock crest] of the Tokugawa family, the remaining surfaces plain silver, signed on the lid with engraved characters Katsuhide koku [engraved by Katsuhide] and with a gold-inlaid seal Katsu, stamped on one of the long sides with a seal Katsuhide no in [seal of Katsuhide]; with fitted wood box
