Price guide to Russian cigar cases. Some of the most prestigious cigar cases are those made in Russia by the renown maker Faberge. However, other makers also made exquisite cigar cases and many Russian makers excelled in making beautiful cloisonne cases or silver and enamelled cigar cases.

19th c. Russian-84 Silver and Niello Scenic Cheroot or Cigar Case

19th c. Russian-84 Silver and Niello Scenic Cheroot or Cigar Case, Moscow, 1868, assayer V. Savinsky, with Cyrillic maker’s mark ‘Ae’, lid engraved with architectural view of military compound or fortified square with chapel, niello checkerboard decoration to lid and base, gilt washed interior, spring button opening, 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 7/8″, 4.38 ozt. Small base dent and niello loss and old surface stain, probably from a tie or elastic band.
